Bob Johnston
Chief Excitement Officer
What I do | I am the chief excitement officer and chairman of the board of directors for Front Burner. I provide the strategic growth vision and oversee the team of senior leaders for the company and affiliated Melting Pot, Melting Pot Social, and Oronzo brands. This is my first and last job. I started when I was 14 with no ambition to be in the restaurant business, but was bitten by the hospitality bug. I can’t think of any career that would have been more fulfilling!
Who I am | I love building teams and working with them to “put on a show” for our guest every night. I am proud to have been a part of helping franchisees with getting into business, many for the very first time. I would rather have a face to face conversation than read any email, post, or memo and I truly enjoy people and learn from them daily in the most unlikely way! I can’t stand wasting time on the unimportant or making things more complicated than need be. I prefer to focus on a smaller number of high potential ideas, and I feel that seeking perfection is the enemy of our progress.
My belief | I believe every day is a gift from God. Out of gratitude for all we have been given, we have an obligation to help those around us in our company, the franchise family, and the world we live in. I believe it is more important to be missed than remembered.
How I spend my free time? | Mountain biking, flying, boating, and sporting clays.
